GAME 1 vs. Shadle Park - CV 56
SP 40
The season is off and running. The Lady Bears started off the year with a
formidable opponent in the Highlanders of Shadle Park. Shadle, picked to be one
of the top 4 teams in the GSL came into the game without WSU signee Lexie
Petterson who was nursing a hamstring injury. The Lady Bears, coming off a 5-15
season, hit the court with a bundle of nerves, a new coach, and 11 days of
practicing a new offense. The Lady Bears would get off to a rocky start, but
would eventually settle down and end the 1st quarter down 15-11. The 2nd quarter
brought some much needed defense from the Lady Bears as they would hold Shadle
to 4 points in the 2nd qtr. and the Lady Bears would lead at halftime 20-19. The
third quarter was a scoring fest with very little defense from both teams and
the teams would head into the 4th quarter tied 37-37. In the fourth quarter, it
was the Lady Bears defense that would prevail by shutting the Highlanders down
to just one 3 pointer and end the game winning the 4th quarter 19-3 and the game
56-40. The Lady Bears were led by Justine Bowman's 23 pts., Lindsey Gigler's 10
pts. and Ashley Hinseth's 7 pts. Good start for the Lady Bears, next opponent
will be the Ferris Saxons on Friday, Nov. 30th.
GAME 2 vs. Ferris - CV
70
Ferris 44
Game two came very quickly for the Lady Bears, especially since they were still
trying to learn some of my offenses and continue building on their team first
attitude. Game two's opponent would be the Ferris Saxons, losers to Mead 47-40
on Tuesday. With that score in mind, the Ferris Saxons were coming into the Bear
Den with confidence and rightfully so seeing how they played Mead so tough. The
Lady Bears, didn't really know what to expect other than to play as hard as they
could and to be prepared. The Lady Bears jumped out to one of the best starts
you could ask for as Justine Bowman would hit for 11 pts. and Kelsey Matthews
would hit for 12 pts. in the first quarter and stake the Lady Bears to a 33-10
first quarter lead. The 2nd quarter would be less impressive, but the Lady Bears
would take a 40-21 lead into half. The 2nd half would bring more of the 1st half
as the Lady Bears played rather consistently and would lead by as many as 30
pts. and eventually win the game 70-44. The Lady Bears were led by Justine
Bowman's 18 pts., Kelsey Matthews 17 pts., Ashley Hinseth's 13 pts./9 rebounds,
and Brittany Catron's 12 rebounds. Next up for the Lady Bears, the Lady Knights
of East Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 4th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 3 vs. East Valley - CV 53 EV
34
Game three saw the Lady Bears facing off with Coach Rehkow's former
team, the Lady Knights from East Valley. The game brought with it some tension,
awkwardness, and the desire of both teams to win for multiple reasons. The game
began with many turnovers by both teams, but eventually both teams would settle
down and begin to play a little basketball. The Lady Bears led by seven points
at halftime, but would come out in the 2nd half and press the Lady Knights into
an 18 point deficit to begin the fourth quarter. The Lady Bears and Lady Knights
would battle to a 16-15 fourth quarter and the Lady Bears would prevail by a
final score of 53-34. The Lady Bears were led by Kelsey Matthews 16 pts., Ashley
Hinseth's 10 pts./ 7 rebounds, and Brittany Catron, Justine Bowman, and Lindsey
Gigler's 7 pts. Key players of the game, Mallory Flesher and her defense on the
Lady Knights leading scorer and Kelsey Matthew's outside shooting. Good job Lady
Bears and next up North Central, Friday, Dec. 7th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 4 vs. North Central - CV 44
NC 39
Game four was nothing like I, nor anyone else, could have expected. This
game got off to an ugly start and really failed to get much better. This was a
game that saw both teams commit a total of 55 turnovers, miss 28 free throws,
and together shoot a miserable 27% from the floor. Through it all, there was 32
minutes of hacking, shoving, and missed calls that only promoted the lack of
structure witnessed by those in attendance Friday night at North Central High
School. On the other side, this game saw both teams play to an 11-11 first
quarter, the Lady Bears outscore NC 15-2 in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-13
halftime lead, and then watch NC outscore the Lady Bears 26-18 in the final two
quarters for a final score of CV 44 and NC 39. The Lady Bears were led by
Justine Bowman's 18 pts. / 6 rebounds, Lindsey Gigler's 8 pts., and Tristina
Krakenberg's 6 points (big 3 ptr. in the final 2 minutes). Next up for the Lady
Bears will be the Pirates from Rogers High School on Tuesday, December 11th @
7:15 pm.
GAME 5 vs Rogers - CV 85
Rogers 32
Game five began with a bang and ended with a fury. The Lady Bears hosted
the Rogers Pirates and the Lady Bears were ready to go. The Lady Bears jumped
out to an early 22-0 first quarter lead with tenacious defense and several
Roger's turnovers. With an early lead, the Lady Bears began to run their offense
and continue working on their defense and took a 45-6 lead into halftime. Upon
their return to the floor, the Lady Bears would continue to dominate the boards,
out rebounding the Pirates by 16 for the game, benefit from 24 Rogers turnovers,
and take good care of the ball (only 9 turnovers for the game). The fourth
quarter would see Rogers playing with a high level of intensity and a
nothing-to-lose attitude and the Lady Bears playing with defensive complacency.
The final quarter saw Rogers score 20 points and the Lady Bears scoring 22
points, definitely a quarter without defense. The Lady Bears had four players in
double figures, led by Justine Bowman's 18 pts./5 steals/ 4 assists, Loree
Hill's 14 pts./ 7 rebounds, Mallory Fleshers 13 pts., and Lindsey Gigler's 11
pts./ 9 rebounds. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Mt. Spokane Wildcats on
Friday, Dec. 14th @ 7:15.
GAME 6 vs Mt. Spokane CV - 60
Mt. Spokane - 46
Game six was a pivotal game for the Lady Bears, by some means a possible
defining game. The Lady Bears faced off against the improved Wildcats of Mt.
Spokane, limited the services of Korina Baker (back injury). The game began with
the Lady Bears jumping to an early 10 point lead as their defense attacked the
Wildcats and produced some quick fast break scores. However, the Wildcats would
settle down and begin to use the inside game of Katie Karisch to offset the Lady
Bears scoring and balance the game for a halftime score of 29-19. Upon return to
the court for the 2nd half, the Lady Bears jumped out to a quick and efficient
start by scoring ten unanswered points and pushing the lead to 20 pts. The
Wildcats refused to roll over and would claw back to within 10 before the Lady
Bears could weather the storm and eventually prevail by a final score of 60-46.
This game produced some exciting moments and saw the Lady Bears out rebound
their opponents 49-24. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's
17 pts./5 reb./4 asst., Brittany Catron's 7 pts./11 reb., Ashley Hinseth's 16
pts./5 reb., and Loree Hill's 5 pts./8 reb. Next up for the Lady Bears, the 2
Time Defending State Champion and #1 Ranked Tigers from Lewis & Clark on
Tuesday, Dec. 18th @ 7:15.
GAME 7 vs Lewis & Clark CV 40
LC 54
Game seven was a showdown of the two unbeaten teams in the GSL. Lewis
and Clark came into the game having dominated five of its first six opponents
and was ready to go against the Lady Bears. Using their quickness and
experience, the Lady Tigers behind Brittany Kennedy and Jeneva Anderson jumped
out on the Lady Bears 13-0 in the first 3 minutes of the game and used that
early lead to hold off the efforts of the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears, down by as
many as 18, drew within 8 pts. in the third, but were unable to draw any closer.
Though a valiant effort by the Lady Bears, the early lead was too much to
overcome. The Lady Bears were led by Justine Bowman's 14 pts./ 5 reb., Kelsey
Matthews 12 pts., and Lindsey Gigler's 6 pts./ 9 reb. Next up for the Lady Bears
will be the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups on Friday, Dec. 21st @ 5:30 pm @ Gonzaga Prep
H.S.
GAME 8 vs Gonzaga Prep
CV 73 G-Prep 41
Game eight saw the Lady Bears return to their winning ways by rolling past the
Bullpups 73-41. This game got off to a sloppy start, but after a 15-10 first
quarter the Lady Bears would begin to take control and go into halftime with a
14 point lead. After halftime, the Lady Bears seemed to be clicking on all
cylinders. After getting G-Prep's two main scorers in foul trouble, the Lady
Bears would open their margin and roll to victory on the Bullpups home floor.
The Lady Bears had four players in double figures led by Justine Bowman's 18
pts., followed by Ashley Hinseth's 14 pts., Lindsey Gigler's 12 pts., and
Brittany Catron's 10 pts. This was a very well played team basketball game and
next up for the Lady Bears are their rivals, the Titans of University on Friday,
Dec. 28th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 9 vs University
CV 44 U-High 61
Game nine saw the Lady Bears run into a team that was firing on all cylinders
during the break. The Lady Titans came out smoking hot from the opening tip and
continued to stay on fire throughout the game. In front of a large crowd, the
Lady Bears seemed unable to get on track and play the type of ball that had
staked them to the 7-1 record they came into this game with. Unable to stop
U-High's inside and outside attack, the Lady Bears fell behind by 10 pts. at
half and by as many as 30 in the second half. With Bowman and her teammates
unable to get started until the 4th quarter, and what seemed to be a lack of
intensity throughout the game, the Lady Bears would struggle and only put up 24
pts. through three quarters and eventually put up 20 more in the fourth. Though
a tough loss for the Lady Bears, it was a learning experience and one the Lady
Bears hope they will not have to experience again come Stinky Sneaker in the
Arena on January 10th when they face the Titans again. Leading the way for the
Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 16 pts. and Brittany Catron's 8 pts. / 8
rebounds. Next up the Lady Bears will visit 7-1 Mead on Tuesday, January 8th @
5:30 pm.
GAME 10 vs Mead
CV 58 Mead 64
Game ten was a battle of two second place teams in search of placing
themselves in a better position for a regional playoff berth. Though still early
in the season, every big game is pivotal and this game was a battle for both
teams. Mead used some of their state playoff experience to jump out early on the
Lady Bears and would hold a 7 pt. lead after one quarter. The Lady Bears would
show some fight by working their way back into the game and pulling within two
by halftime. The third quarter would see the game go back and forth with the
Lady Panthers holding a 43-42 lead going into the final stanza. The Lady
Panthers would hit two quick baskets to take a five point lead, then after a CV
timeout, the Lady Panthers would crank up their press and complete a 9-0 run to
take a 10 pt. lead. The Lady Bears were in a struggle to close the gap and would
fall behind by as many as 14 before closing the final score to six at 64-58.
Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Ashley Hinseth's 16 pts., Justine
Bowman's 15 pts./6 rebounds, and Lindsey Gigler's 8 pts. The Lady Bears shot 80%
from the FT line, but were outshot from the FT line 28-20 in attempts. Next up
for the Lady Bears will be the Stinky Sneaker vs. U-High at Spokane Memorial
Arena on Thursday, January 10th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 11 vs University (Stinky Sneaker)
CV 42 U-High 50
Game eleven was nearly a repeat of game nine vs. U-High, the Lady Bears
fell behind by as many as 18 early and would trail the entire game by 15 to 17
points until another 4th quarter run pulled the Lady Bears to within 6 with
under a minute left. The Lady Bears poor shooting, combined with the Lady Titans
good defense and excellent rebounding, placed the Lady Bears in many one and
done offensive possessions and would keep the scoreboard in U-High's favor
throughout the night. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 12
pts./5 reb., Brittany Catron's 11 pts. / 6 reb., and Lindsey Gigler's 10 pts. /
4 reb. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Lady Knights of East Valley on
Saturday, January 12th @ 7:15 pm at Central Valley High School.
GAME 12 vs East Valley
CV 58 EV 60
Game twelve was an upset of huge proportion with the Lady Knights
knocking off the Lady Bears 60-58 on the Lady Bears home court. After winning
the first battle by 17 pts., many would've thought the Lady Bears were destined
to repeat the early season performance and step up against the 1-9 Lady Knights.
However, the Lady Knights came ready to play and plugged their way through a
foul-prone game which saw 48 total fouls for the game and a disruptive influence
on the Lady Bears style of play. The Lady Knights jumped up by eleven early on
the Lady Bears, but the Lady Bears made a run right before half to pull within
one point going into halftime. Upon return to the court, the Lady Bears would go
on another run and take a nine point lead into the 4th quarter. Key turnovers,
lack of defense, and some crucial free throws by EV would end up being the
difference as the Lady Bears were outscored 22-11 in the 4th quarter, thus
suffering the fourth consecutive loss. Leading the Lady Bears was Brittany
Catron's 12 pts./9 reb., Ashley Hinseth's 11 pts./8 reb., Sara Hemenway's 5
pts., and Loree Hill's 5 pts./8 rebounds. Next up for the Lady Bears will be a
rematch with Mead @ Central Valley High School on Tuesday, Jan. 15th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 13 vs Mead
CV 43 Mead 57
Game thirteen was another bump in the road for the Lady Bears as the
fell to the Panthers 43-57. Though it was a 14 point loss for the Lady Bears,
they played with much more energy and fire than they did against both the Titans
and Knights and the score is not a true reflection of the battle that took
place. After falling behind by 12 points early in the 1st quarter, the Lady
Bears took a timeout and regrouped to come out and take a 16-14 first quarter
lead. The two teams would battle back and forth in the 2nd quarter with Mead
eventually taking a 5 point lead into halftime. In the 2nd half, the Lady Bears
could not find the bottom of the basket and would only score 3 field goals, thus
relying on 11 made free throws to account for the rest of their scoring. Though
ending with a negative outcome, the Lady Bears should use this game to realize
they can play with the top teams in the league, but must learn to constantly
battle hard to bring out their best. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was
Lindsey Gigler's 14 points / 7 reb. and Tristina Krakenbergs 7 pts. Next up for
the Lady Bears will be their 2nd game against the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups on
Friday, Jan. 18th @ Central Valley High School @ 7:15 pm.
GAME 14 vs Gonzaga Prep
CV 54 G-Prep 56
Game fourteen was a heartbreaker for the Lady Bears as they fell to the
Bullpups, a team they defeated by 32 the first time around. The Lady Bears
shooting woes continued as they shot 26% from the floor and found themselves on
yet another 2 point loss. The Lady Bears came out sluggish and incapable of
putting the ball in the basket and found themselves down 13-0 from the start of
the game. The Lady Bears would fight back to within a few points on several
occasions, but once again found it hard to score when it was needed. In the
final quarter, the Lady Bears would put together one last run and pull within
one point with 14 seconds left, but missed the go ahead basket. The Lady Bears
would get one last shot, but it was blocked and the Lady Bears had fallen for
the sixth straight game. Leading the Lady Bears was Lindsey Gigler's 15 pts./14
reb., Justine Bowman's 11 pts., and Mallory Flesher's 10 pts. Next up for the
Lady Bears will be Shadle Park and WSU bound Lexie Petterson @ SFCC, Tuesday,
Jan. 22, 5:45 pm.
GAME 15 vs Shadle Park
CV 40 SP 42
Game fifteen saw the Lady Bears beginning to get back into their form of
play that staked them out to a 6-0 start. They came out as the aggressor and put
Shadle Park on their heels from the outset. The Lady Bears incorporated an up
tempo pace and played tough, aggressive defense. The Lady Bears would find
themselves up by 3 points at halftime and up by 5 points after 3 quarters.
Unfortunately, the Lady Bears found getting the ball in the basket an issue in
the fourth quarter and would allow the Highlanders to work their way back into
the game and eventually into the lead. The Lady Bears down 5 with 1:46 left in
the game worked their way to within 2 with 11 seconds remaining and would get a
steal with 7.3 seconds left that led to a jump ball and CV possession. The Lady
Bears made an inbounds play that would get them two solid looks at the basket,
but both would narrowly miss and the Lady Bears fell for the seventh straight
game. Leading the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 14 points, Lindsey Gigler's 9
rebounds, and Ashley Hinseth's 8 rebounds. Next up for the Lady Bears will be at
Rogers High School, Thursday, Jan. 24th @ 7:15 pm.
GAME 16 vs Rogers
CV 81 Rogers 29
Game sixteen saw the Lady Bears get back into form as they ended their
seven game skid by routing the Pirates. The Lady Bears appeared to be having fun
and playing basketball the way they were at the beginning of the season when
they started off 6-0. Feeding off of their previous game with Shadle Park, the
Lady Bears were running the floor, playing aggressive defense, and finally
hitting their open shots. After a fairly slow start, the Lady Bears caught fire
and opened up an 11 point advantage after one quarter, then outscored the
Pirates 25-0 in the 2nd period to open up a 44-8 halftime lead. The second half
would see the Pirates score a little bit more, but the Lady Bears would open the
lead even more and cruise to an 81-29 victory. With four Lady Bears scoring in
double figures, leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 17
pts./5 steals, Mallory Flesher's 13 pts./4 steals, Loree Hill's 10 pts., and
Lindsey Gigler's 13 pts./4 reb. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Wildcats
of Mt. Spokane on Saturday, Jan. 26th @ 5:30 pm.
GAME 17 vs Mt. Spokane
CV 61 Mt. Spokane 47
Game seventeen saw the Lady Bears pick up where the left off at Rogers,
by jumping out early and then playing with the intensity and excitement that led
them to their first seven wins. The Lady Bears would hold a ten point lead at
halftime, push it to fourteen midway through the third quarter, then watch the
Wildcats work their way back into the game. The Lady Bears would get back in
sync and then eventually put the game away by hitting 30 out of 40 free throws
in the game. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 19 pts. and
Ashley Hinseth's 12 pts./14 reb., and Tristina Krakenberg's 7 pts. Next up for
the Lady Bears will be the Indians from North Central on Saturday, Feb. 2nd @
2:00 pm.
GAME 18 vs North Central
CV 54 NC 45
Game eighteen would be an important game for the Lady Bears as it had
playoff implications for both teams. The Lady Bears, with a win, would secure a
playoff spot in the 4A District Playoffs and return to the playoffs after a year
absence. The Indians, in a three-way tie for a playoff berth, needed a win to
create some separation between themselves, EV, and Mt. Spokane. The Lady Bears
came out running early and would open a ten point lead that would hold up nearly
the entire first half. Upon return for the 2nd half, the Lady Bears would open
the game up by as many as 21 in the fourth quarter only to see that lead
dissipate and eventually end with the Lady Bears winning by nine points. Though
at times sloppy, the Lady Bears showed some signs of getting into the form they
will need to be successful come playoff time. Leading the way for the Lady Bears
was Justine Bowman's 15 pts./ 7 reb., Lindsey Gigler's 14 pts./ 6 reb., and
Mallory Flesher's 7 reb./ 4 steals. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the
Ferris Saxons on Tuesday, Feb. 5th @ 7:15 pm at Joel E. Ferris High School.
GAME 19 vs Ferris
CV 61
Ferris 42
Game nineteen saw the Lady Bears continue on their late season run with
another convincing win over one of the lower tiered teams in the league, the
Ferris Saxons. Having won their previous three games, the Lady Bears strolled
into the new Ferris gym and handed the Ferris Saxons a 61-42 defeat. Though they
got off to a rather slow start in the first half, the Lady Bears got it going in
the second half behind Justine Bowman and Kelsey Matthews hot shooting. In the
end, the Lady Bears would be just too much for the Saxons and the Lady Bears
secured their playoff position. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine
Bowman's 18 pts., Kelsey Matthews and Mallory Flesher's 11 pts. each. Next up
for the Lady Bears will be the 2-Time defending state champion LC Tigers.
GAME 20 vs Lewis & Clark
CV 48
LC 69
Game twenty saw the Lady Bears run into a buzz saw known as the LC
Tigers. Led by Oregon State-bound Brittany Kennedy and a lineup of experienced
ball players, the Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead over the Lady Bears
and never looked back. The Lady Bears would fight and claw to the best of their
abilities, but the LC Tigers were too much for the Lady Bears and anyone else
who seemed to play the Tigers this year. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was
Justine Bowman's 21 pts., Kelsey Matthew's 8 pts., and Mallory Flesher's 7 pts.
Next up for the Lady Bears will be University High School in a District
Loser-Out Playoff game on February 12th @ U-High at 5:45 pm.
DISTRICT PLAYOFFS
GAME 21 vs University (Loser Out)
CV 55 U-High 51
Game twenty-one was a game that pitted two district rivals against each
other in a loser-out playoff game. The Titans had defeated the Lady Bears twice
this season, once by 17 points and again at the Stinky Sneaker by 6 points, but
this game would have a different look to it on the part of the Lady Bears.
Changing game plans and throwing a 3/4 court press and a stifling zone defense,
the Lady Bears seemed to confuse the Titans and took leads of 11 in the 1st half
and 14 in the 2nd half. The Titans were true athletes though, they would narrow
each of those leads down to 1 and 2 points before finally succumbing to a 4 pt.
loss and marking the first time CV had defeated since the 2004 season. Leading
the way was Justine Bowman's 19 pts. and Brittany Catron's 17 pts./9
rebounds. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the LC Tigers.
GAME 22 vs Lewis & Clark
CV 47 LC 67
Game twenty-two was much like the other games with LC, too much
experience and talent for the Lady Bears to overcome. This game was pretty much
over before the end of the 1st quarter as the Tigers pounced on the Lady Bears
early and though the Lady Bears would try to establish a couple of mid-game
runs, the Tigers would not falter and would once again beat the Lady Bears by
20. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's career high 29
points.
GAME 23 vs Mead
CV 43 Mead 61
Game twenty-three saw the Lady Bears fall behind early and then battle
their way back by the end of the 3rd quarter. The Lady Bears found themselves
down early, trailing by as many as 14 pts, before working really hard and
pulling to within one point by the end of the 3rd quarter. However, the Panthers
would find something working in the 4th quarter and the Lady Bears seemed to
lose the momentum that they had gained in the third quarter, thus leading to a
21-4 quarter for the Panthers. Leading the way for the Lady Bears was Justine
Bowman's 16 pts. and Kelsey Matthew's 7 pts. Next up for the Lady Bears will be
Regionals.
REGIONAL PLAYOFFS
GAME 24 vs Moses Lake (CBL #1 Seed)
CV 40 Moses Lake 55
Game twenty-four pitted the Lady Bears, the GSL #4 seed, against the
Chiefs of Moses Lake, the CBL#1 seed. Led by their twin tower sisters, Carly
(6'5") and Ann (6'3") Noyes, and a strong backcourt, the Chiefs would have the
gym at Moses Lake High School packed and rowdy. The Lady Bears came out to play
and after one half of play, they found themselves down six. Upon returning from
halftime, the Chiefs would take an 11 point lead only to see the Lady Bears kick
things into gear and go on a run of their own and tie the score at 32 apiece at
the end of the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately for the Lady Bears, they would endure
the same misfortune that they had experienced only four days earlier with Mead
and see the wheels come off and get buried 23-8 in the fourth quarter. Leading
the way for the Lady Bears was Brittany Catron's 16 pts./10 rebounds and Justine
Bowman's 10 pts. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Shadle Park Highlanders
in a loser-out regional game.
GAME 25 vs Shadle Park (Loser-Out)
CV 57 Shadle Park 65
Game twenty-five saw the Lady Bears taking on one of their GSL
counterparts in a loser-out, winner-advances regional playoff game. The Lady
Bears seemed to get off to a slow start and appeared to have some tough
officiating to overcome early as they would fall behind early and watch Shadle
shoot FT's early and often. Down by 11 points at halftime, the Lady Bears were
determined to come out and fight for their playoff existence, however the
Highlanders would come out and score quickly and jump out to a 22 point lead
midway through the 3rd quarter. The Lady Bears were not done though, as they
would stage a courageous comeback behind the scrappy and energetic play of their
bench and would eventually cut the lead to 4 before a couple missed shots and a
couple of turnover would put an end to the run. In the end, Lexie Petterson's 35
pts. (19 from the FT line) would be too much for the Lady Bears to overcome and
the Lady Bears would fall 57-65 and their season would be finished. Leading the
Lady Bears was Justine Bowman's 20 pts., Tristina Krakenberg's 9 pts., and
Ashley Hinseth's 7 pts.
Final Thoughts
I am so proud of this years Lady Bears basketball team. Not only did they improve upon last years record, but they pushed themselves above and beyond what many thought they could achieve. We had fun as a team, we worked hard as a team, and we finished the season still together as a team. We saw friendships formed, strengthened, and secured as the season went along and I can honestly say that this was one of the most rewarding seasons I have ever had as a coach. I learned so much from each one of these girls and I know that they gave their best each and every time they stepped onto the floor. I know they learned more than just basketball, and because of this, each one of them will continue to be successful both on and off the court. We've had our laughs, our tears, and have made some memories, none of these and what we have accomplished this season will be taken from us . I want to say congratulations to the team and the school. I want to say thank you to the players, their parents, and all of those who supported us this year. I want to say thank you to my staff who was there throughout it all. And last but not least, I want to thank my family for their support as I took on this new adventure with the Lady Bear basketball program, I am truly home with this program and I look forward to many more years with my current players and those yet to come. GO LADY BEARS!!!!
